And there our countries are aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation,” he said after the meeting.
Speaking at the forum, which was held under the slogan “Shaping a New World and a New Humanity: Creativity and Human Development”, the parliamentarian stressed that one of the challenges that society faces today is the need to restructure the education system.
“We understand that education is the foundation. But the modern system, both at schools and at universities, faces challenges related to the fact that a teacher and a textbook are not the only sources of knowledge in the era of the information society. Therefore, the most important thing, in my opinion, is to teach how to set and solve cognitive tasks, process information, orient in the information space,” said Sergei Neverov.
“Most of the jobs that the current generation will do in the future do not yet exist,” the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma continued. “It is connected with the development of robotics, artificial intelligence. And now teachers have an opportunity to cultivate curiosity, the desire to learn during the whole life, to develop critical thinking skills, and to create conditions for creativity in the learning process. In short, everything that will allow adapting to the changing labor market.”
The state, in its turn, should create conditions for the development of science, for the self-realization of its citizens. These are the priorities that were identified in the “May” Decree of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the parliamentarian emphasized, noting that the task of the parliamentary corps is to provide legislative support for the implementation of this Decree.
Sergei Neverov also expressed confidence that, based on the results of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum, concrete proposals will be developed that will form the basis for decision-making process and trigger necessary changes in many countries of the world.
