The First Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Economic Policy Nadezhda Shkolkina
Nadezhda Vasilievna
said at the press conference
on the results of the 12th International BRICS Parliamentary Forum
which was held in New Delhi on October 26 and 27, that development of tourism
is a key issue for BRICS member states. “Only
during 2025, 135 million tourists visited
BRICS states.
It is obvious that our states are interested in mutual
tourism, exchange, and that means that we have a lot of things to discuss, in particular
with India,” she said.
“We took tourism as an issue for our homework, especially, an issue of electronic visas. Now, in India, electronic visas for our people are free of charge, while our visas require payments. We are working on this issue with relevant ministry,” stressed Nadezhda Shkolkina.
In addition, speaking about the cooperation with India, the parliamentarian noted the successful experience of creating joint industries. “I think, we will choose the way of cooperation again,” added the First Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee.
