As noted the Chairman of the Committee, “India is one of Russia’s old privileged partners”. “Our Indian friends are really interested in civil aviation, Transmashholding’s highway projects. If we talk about the most promising areas, we should mention transport engineering and military and technical cooperation. We should also mention the Uralmash success, as this company sends heavy excavators to the Indian market,” emphasized Vladimir Gutenev.
The Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin paid a working visit to the Republic on India from October 24 to October 27. He headed the Russian delegation at the 12th International BRICS Parliamentary Forum. The main theme of the Forum was “Fostering Parliaments for People-Centric Development”.
There was adopted a joint statement. The Forum participants noted the importance of providing legislative support for “strengthening strategic BRICS partnership and within the respective constitutional mandates and competencies of member Parliaments across all areas of cooperation.”
