“Look at the results of its destructive contribution to the collapse of the Soviet Union. It tries to do the same with the USA by discrediting its President,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin. “Only a few years later the United States of America has finally seen the true colors of the organization. The congressmen should do everything possible to eliminate such structures,” he added. According to him, the US Congress should follow the State Duma’s example and to strip the credentials of the journalists of the British Broadcasting Corporation.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, the United Kingdom “should close the BBC, to dissolve this organization”. “It tried to do bad things to the United States of America, it had been playing dirty tricks on us for many years,” he said.
Vyacheslav Volodin addressed the accredited journalists at the State Duma and stressed that journalism, first and foremost, is numbers and facts. “Our media are the most open, decent and honest. Slander and fake news will not bring any good. And the Russian media should be accredited by the Congress, because we do not interfere in the internal affairs of other sovereign states,” he added.
