The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
welcomed the participants of the fourth meeting of the joint parliamentary working group under the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
The meeting is being held in Moscow and headed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Babakov

and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress
Peng Qinghua.
“Our relations have already developed into permanent contacts,” said Vyacheslav Volodin addressing the meeting participants. “The format of the working group, headed by our friend and comrade Peng Qinghua and colleague Alexander Babakov, shows effectiveness,” he added.
He called the development of legislation in the field of artificial intelligence, the preservation and protection of historical memory and common history, and the development of youth exchanges among key issues of mutual interest that will be considered.
“You have a rich agenda. I hope that you, together with our colleagues, will do everything possible to consider these issues. Then, within the framework of the commission, we will try to give them new impetus so that the parliamentary dimension can contribute to the development of our relations, which have become much stronger and are developing dynamically and it is possible because of the contribution of our leaders—Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Comrade Xi Jinping,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
Before the meeting started, Vyacheslav Volodin and Peng Qinghua held bilateral negotiations. They discussed the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. According to the Chairman of the State Duma, parliamentary interaction contributes to the dynamic development of relations between Russia and China. The Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress expressed gratitude to the parliamentarians for their personal interest in cooperation with their Chinese colleagues.
On August 25–26, the Chairman of the State Duma paid an official visit to China. In Beijing, Vyacheslav Volodin was received by the President of China Xi Jinping. He also met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji in the Chinese capital and took part in the tenth meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National People's Congress. The parliamentarians discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various areas ˗ economics, tourism, culture, education, science, and others, as well as exchanging experience in countering sanctions and foreign interference, and protecting the historical truth about the events of World War II.
