“Sport should be outside politics. Today, the International Olympic Committee elects a new president. Bach is leaving, having completely discredited the Olympic movement,” posted the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
on his Telegram channel.

At a plenary meeting of the State Duma, he stressed that the leadership of the International Olympic Committee had sullied itself, “because they are corrupted and are interested in promoting several non-traditional values that we criticize.”

“All this has led to the fact that trust in it is at a minimum level,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

According to him, the resignation of the IOC leadership should have taken place “just after they began to allow former men who changed their gender to women to compete and other things like that,” and that what happened at the Olympic Games in Paris “is completely beyond criticism.”

The Chairman of the State Duma noted that “we should defend our principles, our country, and not try to please so that we will be allowed to participate in any competitions.” “We do not need to participate if there are double standards; there is no sport, rules, fundamental values and the Olympic spirit. The International Olympic Committee should be independent,” he concluded.
