Vyacheslav Victorovich The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast) arrived in the Republic of India to pay an official visit.

Issues of cooperation between Russia and India in economic, socio-cultural, educational and technological areas, as well as further development of inter-parliamentary dialogue will be discussed in New Delhi. It is also planned that the Chairman of the State Duma will hold several meetings with the leadership of the Republic and will visit both chambers of the Parliament of India.

The previous official visit of the delegation of the State Duma headed by its Chairman to India was held in December 2018. Then, Vyacheslav Volodin and Speaker of the House of the People of the Parliament of India Sumitra Mahajan held the 5th meeting of Russia-India inter-parliamentary commission.

The next face-to-face meeting with colleagues from India was held in summer of 2024 on the sidelines of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum, where Vyacheslav Volodin and Speaker of the Lok Sabha of the Parliament of India Om Birla discussed issues related to enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue.
