The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher
Ghalibaf in Tehran. They discussed issues of development of inter-parliamentary
cooperation.
Vyacheslav Volodin and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also discussed preparations for the Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments on Countering Terrorism and Strengthening Regional Connectivity and the next meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation between Russia and Iran.
On July 30, the Chairman of the State Duma, on behalf of the President
of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, arrived in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Masoud Pezeshkian.
