Guardsmen in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko, the Chairman of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov, the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali, as well as the granddaughter of General Ivan Panfilov, the head of the Military Historical Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alua Baikadamova took part in the flowers-laying ceremony.
Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that the memory of the soldiers and officers of the Soviet army “is carefully preserved in Kazakhstan”. He recalled that the Memorial in Almaty immortalized the memory of Panfilov’s heroes: they were mobilized from Kazakhstan, but the general himself, division commander Ivan Panfilov and political instructor Vasily Klochkov were from the Saratov region.
“Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a victory of multinational people,” said Vyacheslav Volodin. “We have a common history. Together we defended our country — the Soviet Union, cleaned the world from fascist scum and evil,” he added. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, then everyone united to defend the Motherland: “Russians, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Tajiks, and all the multinational people.”
“Therefore, it is very important for us to strengthen interethnic unity and do everything to protect the truth about those difficult, tragic years. Washington and Brussels try to do everything to rewrite history, to tell lies, but we do not tolerate insults to the memory of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
He called for passing on the memory of the heroic feats of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War to future generations.
The Chairman of the State Duma is paying a working visit to Kazakhstan.
