“And if Washington does not care about the Hamas leadership, the United States rushed to defend Benjamin Netanyahu: there are threats and promises to impose sanctions on the ICC judges. It is not surprising: this is the first time when the leader of the state that is Washington’s closest ally has become the target of prosecution by the International Criminal Court,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
The United States had always used the ICC as a manual tool for achieving its goals, as emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma. He noted that when there were conducted investigations against states in the Middle East, Africa and Asia that Washington considered undesirable, the United States supported these decisions, moreover, often even initiated such investigations. But in the current situation, the scheme convenient for the Americans had gone wrong, as added Vyacheslav Volodin.
“The US leadership does not tolerate when such puppet structures as the ICC, as well as PACE, the European Parliament and others, try to make decisions against the wishes of the hegemon. Washington treats them as backdrop for ruling the world. Our President Vladimir V. Putin has repeatedly spoken about this,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
According to Vyacheslav Volodin, the United States promotes a world order not based on international law, but a “rules-based order” that no one has seen and no one agreed with them. “At the same time, the rules may change if the political situation changes too and it also depends on the interests of those who create those rules. This state of affairs is unacceptable. Only by strengthening a multipolar and just world order, we will be able to get rid of the US political fraud and to solve many global problems,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
