Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russia had deliberately left the Parliamentary Assembly. He recalled that there was a mandatory requirement for the formation of delegations to PACE to include people of non-traditional orientation, transgender people, and so on.
“And they do not even pay attention to the facts that this faction or another has the majority. They only require including LGBTQ representatives,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
“Then, given the fact that at PACE, in general, no one has a majority, only the principle ‘divide and conquer’, they form an agenda that consists only of issues of interest of the United States of America. And they began to use the same approach in relation not only to our country. They are also trying to discredit Belarus, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Russia in various statements. And they even discuss those countries that have nothing to do with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,” added Vyacheslav Volodin. “Therefore, this Council itself has practically ceased to exist: whatever Washington tells them, they will discuss it,” he said.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, the result of such policy affects the economic indicators in Europe. “The growth of the European economies has stopped. This year, according to forecasts, Germany will have only 0.2% growth. What does this mean? That means that the sanctions that were imposed against Russia affected European countries first. America is trying to survive by leaving European countries in the face of problems. But they are controlled through political frameworks such as PACE,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
