On Tuesday, March 19, the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin
Volodin
Vyacheslav Victorovich
The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a meeting with the Speaker
of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Nenad
Stevandić. They signed an agreement on cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the signing of the agreement would help reach new level of cooperation between parliaments.
“Your visit will definitely contribute to the development of our relations within the parliamentary dimension. Today, we are signing an agreement between the Parliament of the Republika Srpska and the State Duma. For our part, we will be able to do everything for more dynamic development of our cooperation,” he said.
The Chairman of the State Duma noted the active contribution of the presidents of the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska to the development of cooperation. And parliamentarians should provide legislative support to the decisions taken by Vladimir Putin and Milorad Dodik, as people are waiting for that, as added Vyacheslav Volodin.
All the State Duma factions support the development of cooperation, according to him. “Everyone considers it would be right to find new formats of cooperation to make it more effective, we can bring our positions closer and, most importantly, reach concrete results developing relations in the interests of people of both the Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
Nenad Stevandić also expressed his joy over the ongoing development of cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and expressed hope the signing of the agreement would only make it stronger.
Vyacheslav Volodin also said that at the next plenary meeting, the State Duma, together with the Federation Council planned to adopt a joint appeal to the parliaments of the world and international parliamentary organizations in connection with the 25th anniversary of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO countries. “Nowadays they are trying to silence this tragedy. We are convinced that the United States of America, those leaders and officials who made that decision to bomb a peaceful city should be held responsible,” he emphasized.
“Washington is responsible for thousands of dead elderly people, children and women, for destroying cities and villages. The aggression of NATO troops is unacceptable. We condemn this act of aggression, just as we condemn aggression against Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and other sovereign states. We must counteract this together,” said Vyacheslav Volodin and added that Russia always build its relations with other countries on the principles of friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation and non-interference in internal affairs.
“In the maternity ward in Banja Luka in 1992, 13 children died just because we were not allowed to bring oxygen for them. Just like the children of Donbass were not considered as children by the West before the special military operation started. They care only about those children who live in the Western states or children of their friends. This is the result of hegemony and a unipolar world,” stressed Nenad Stevandić.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska emphasized that the Republic unconditionally supported “the development of a multipolar world where agreements, not instructions, will rule.” “This is another proof that Russians and Serbs share the same view of further development of the world,” he said.
