Volodin
Vyacheslav Victorovich
The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
during a meeting with professors and students of the Nanjing
University. He answered their questions.
“The loss of sovereignty could lead to the eventual loss of statehood. And if we look at the numbers and facts, there are not so many countries left that have absolute sovereignty. But sovereignty is not only statehood: it also means the preservation of customs, traditions, history, culture, language — everything that determines the identity of a nation. And religion,” he emphasized and added that the loss of sovereignty, on the contrary, could lead to increased external influence “on development, and history could be almost erased, culture could be changed.”
“There is a possibility that there would be no more native language. As a result, the country ceases to exist. Therefore, our country and China stand for a multipolar world and a just world order, that allows all countries to protect their sovereignty and develop in accordance with their goals and objectives,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
