The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
The meeting participants discussed issues related to exchange of legislative experience between Russia and Oman. “Your visit will definitely give an impetus to the development of inter-parliamentary relations between our countries and create a good basis,” Vyacheslav Volodin thanked Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, a dialogue between the leaders of the two states, Vladimir Putin and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, contributes to the development of relations between Russia and Oman. Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the two countries should enhance cooperation at the level of the parliaments. “We should do everything to make the parliamentary dimension also effective,” he said.
The meeting participants paid special attention to the socio-economic and cultural cooperation between the two states, development of tourism cooperation and implementation of Russia-Oman joint projects.
Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi invited Vyacheslav Volodin to pay a visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The Chairman of the State Duma accepted the invitation and also asked to convey the invitation to visit the State Duma to his colleague, the Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of the Sultanate of Oman.
