a special military operation was “he only right decision to ensure the country's security.” “It had prevented a catastrophe, protected millions of our
citizens and compatriots,” he said.
The policy of lying pursued by the leaders of Western states had led to the current situation in Ukraine, as said the Chairman of the State Duma. According to him, recent cynical statement made by Angela Merkel, her “confession”, had revealed the real plans.
“It turned out that no one planned to fulfill the Minsk agreements. They were used just as a cover, while Ukraine was being pumped with weapons and prepared to attack the Donbass and Crimea,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that “on the conscience of Washington and Brussels” are thousands of dead, including, the elderly people, women, children, destroyed cities and villages, infrastructure and the economy. “That is not just a trick, that is a crime and they should be held accountable for that,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
In such conditions when the Russian citizens and compatriots were in danger, Vyacheslav Volodin said that “there were made the historic decisions on recognition of independence of the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics.” “Treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance were ratified. Then the people of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions made a decision to be together with us. All factions of the State Duma unanimously supported this decision,” recalled the Chairman of the State Duma.
