Irina Yarovaya: Pentagon’s pathogens became a dangerous reality for the whole world

Earlier, the Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin said that “the collective West is activating development of the newest weapons systems, enhancing research in the field of creating biological, genetic and other weapons.”
According to Irina Yarovaya, the ongoing parliamentary investigation fully proves that such threats are real. “The DTRA report leaked to the media confirmed that Ukraine was used as one of the training grounds for the military biological programme of research, testing and aggression. The Pentagon’s pathogens are already a dangerous reality for the whole world,” said Irina Yarovaya.
“In this regard, Russia at the BTWC Review Conference held in Geneva proposed relevant comprehensive solutions to protect biological security of all world countries, while the USA strongly resists it,” added the Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Commission.
“The Parliamentary Commission was actively involved in the preparation of proposals for the 9th BTWC Review Conference,” stressed Irina Yarovaya.
Before the conference was held, members of the State Duma had held several meetings with representatives of the parliaments of other countries via videoconference and discussed confidence-building measures and joint efforts to strengthen the BTWC regime. During the meetings, there had also been presented an information on the military-biological activities of the US specialists in Ukraine.

Russia fully supports strengthening of the BTWC regime, transparent and concerted cooperation and the complete prevention of any development of biological weapons.
