According to the Chairman of the State Duma, such conversation was really necessary and Russia presented its views on ensuring long-term security guarantees of its citizens.
“Russia possesses such weapons that no other state in the world has, but we do not use this advantage in dialogue with NATO,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
“We all believed that common sense would prevail and Washington would make a reasonable decision. But instead, there are hysterical statements about new sanctions against our country in the US Parliament,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
“In this regard, I would like to remind the members of the US Congress that the Presidents of our countries have agreed to start consultations on global security issues. In this regard, it is necessary to discuss and implement the agreements reached by the heads of states, and not to talk to us like that, threaten and intimidate. Think about the consequences. Your hysteria will not do any good. First of all, for the United States,” stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Why are you threatening with sanctions? Such threats do not frighten anyone, but destroy our cooperation. It is better to stop before it is too late. Do not create problems,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
He recalled that there were no war actions on the US territory, 27 million US citizens did not die during World War II.
“Recognize your responsibility to the international community, while you are creating huge problems and dangers for some states,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Russian citizens consider attacks on President Vladimir Putin as affront to our country. Start with yourself, if you want to change the world. While there is an opportunity to negotiate, you should use this opportunity. Russia is able to defend itself. Do not make us use such arguments,” concluded the Chairman of the State Duma.
