the need to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation for peace and sustainable
development during the COVID-19 pandemic and after that.
“That is definitely an urgent issue, and I am glad that all participants understand that the world community should join efforts to restore the world economy, that we all need to destroy barriers, respecting sovereignty and try not to create new barriers,” stressed Sergey Neverov.
The parliamentarian said that at the end of the conference, a declaration was adopted, which reflects the principles supported by all countries, committed to constructive mutually beneficial cooperation. According to Sergey Neverov, the meeting participants expressed their desire to “strengthen multilateralism and global partnership in the name of peace, stability and development based on the principles of sovereign equality, territorial integrity, political independence, non-interference in internal affairs, peaceful coexistence, mutual benefit, peaceful resolution of differences and disputes, refraining from the threat of the use of any force and principles incompatible with international law and the UN Charter”.
“A significant part of the declaration is devoted to the recovery of the world economy affected by the spread of the new coronavirus infection. International tourism was recognized as one of the important aspects of recovery. And of course, these issues are primarily related to the availability of COVID-19 against in the world, as well as to the need for mutual recognition of vaccination certificates.
