“We plan to share our experiences in countering foreign interference with our colleagues. The monitoring data containing the facts of destructive external interference show that the same countries and the NGOs, that are funded by them, are actively interfering in the internal affairs of the states and trying to destabilize the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility,” the Chairman of the Commission stressed.
He added that “it was proposed to discuss also other common for the CSTO member states issues related to the foreign interference, including attempts to change the drug policy of the countries, to promote drug use and legalization of drugs, as well as to introduce substitution therapy, and that means, some drugs are replaced by others, that are legal, under the patronage of the state. ”
“Such actions can be effectively addressed only by joint efforts. Therefore, it is important for us to exchange legislative experience and best practices in countering foreign interference and identify possible joint actions to prevent activities of undesirable foreign organizations and foundations on the territories of our states,” emphasized Vasilii Piskarev.
The CSTO PA member states are the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan. Parliamentarians of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the People's Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia are observers in the CSTO PA.
