at a plenary meeting on Tuesday, September 10, supported the creation of the State Duma Commission on the investigation
of foreign interference in Russia's internal affairs.
It consists
of representatives
of all the State Duma factions. The parliamentarians also supported the election of the Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control Vasilii

as the head of the Commission.
In accordance with the Regulations of the Commission, its activities are based
“on the principles of freedom of discussion, transparency and collegial
decision-making.”
The tasks of the Commission are to study and analyze the facts and circumstances of interference of foreign states in Russia’s internal affairs, preparation of proposals to take legislative measures to counter foreign interference, as well as proposals containing information about the facts of interference to be sent to parliaments of foreign states and inter-parliamentary organizations and the media.
Materials about the facts of interference and relevant conclusions will be sent to Russian law enforcement agencies and international organizations.

Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast) noted earlier, the issue of external interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation is extremely important, and the decision to establish a commission to study this issue is logical.
“We made a decision based on the principle that our country is guided by — non-interference in the sovereign affairs of other states. We believe that this principle should be the basis for building relations with the Russian Federation,” he said.
According to the Chairman of the Commission Vasilii Piskarev, “two meetings of the Commission have already taken place, and the first results already find confirmation of the facts of foreign interference in the Russian election campaign.”
He recalled that the Commission sent relevant requests to law enforcement, control, investigative authorities and special services of Russia, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media), the Ministry of Justice of Russia, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and the Government of Moscow “to provide information on all available facts of foreign interference in the internal Affairs of our country.”
The Commission also sent an invitation to US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman and representatives of the broadcasting company Deutsche Welle. It is also planned to invite representatives of Google and Facebook to one of the upcoming meetings.
“The results of the Commission’s work will not only include the study and analysis of designated and other cases of interference by foreign powers in the internal affairs of our country. First of all, we intend to prepare legislative proposals aimed at countering external interference and protecting the sovereignty of the Russian Federation. We will also be ready to provide reports on the facts of interference by foreign states in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation to PACE, the OSCE PA, the PA CSTO and other inter-parliamentary structures, international public organizations and the media,” stated Vasilii Piskarev.
