The inauguration ceremony of Nicolás Maduro took place after his convincing victory in the presidential elections last year.
The events were held against the background of an active anti-Venezuelan campaign launched by Washington. Not so long ago, US Presidential Advisor John Bolton declared Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua a “Troika of Tyranny.”
The inauguration ceremony was held in the building of the Supreme Court of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Delegations from many countries of the world, including the heads of Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia and El Salvador, arrived in Venezuela to take part in the ceremony. Besides the Russian and Belarusian delegations, the Presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia took part in the events in Caracas.
After taking the oath of office as President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and all the participants of the ceremony moved to the Military Academy, where the Armed Forces of the country took the oath of allegiance to the lawfully elected president.
