Viacheslav Nikonov reminded that at the end of last week the United States also declared the possibility of a direct military conflict with Russia.
“The situation in Syria is escalating, especially the situation around Idlib, which is occupied by 60 thousand terrorists, and the United States and its Western allies protect them as if they were their relatives. In many respects, they really relate to them, because it is the West that supports a significant part of these terrorists, and many Western specialists have now cometoIdlib,” he explained.
The parliamentarian noted that the meeting of Vladimir Putin with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held the day before, provides for the possibility of peaceful resolution of the situation around Idlib, but this does not mean that it has already been resolved and that the threat of a direct military conflictin this region is impossible. According to the parliamentarian, “White Helmets” continue to prepare provocations with the alleged use of chemical weapons against Idlib by the Damascus authorities, in order to hit Syria after that. The situation, according to the member of the State Duma, is extremely acute.
“At the last NATO summit, which took place in summer, the United States of America imposed the formula of 30–30–30: 30 deployable battalions and 30 frigates in 30 days of combat readiness in order to conduct military operations against Russia.
The United States has intensified the sanctions war, the next package of sanctions will indeed be quite unpleasant. In the US Senate, this package has already been named a “blow from hell”. At least, we have been clarified where the hell is.
But it is obvious that the blow will be directed to the Russian banking system, to our financial institutions and to our sovereign debt,” believes Viacheslav Nikonov.
In the opinion of the parliamentarian, under the conditions of international tension, all political forces and all Russians need to work together to strengthen the economic positions, sovereignty and defense power of our country, so that nobody can think to try to carry out aggression against Russia.
“We all in this room, of course, are supporters of strengthening the defense power of the Russian Federation. Together we must make every effort to ensure that no one comes to mind to try to carry out aggression against Russia because weakness is always an invitation to aggression. And all of us together in this room can provide strategic depth for Russian diplomacy, ensuring cooperation with our closest allies within the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS and with other states that are ready to withstand external pressure together with us, work on detrimental,” concluded Viacheslav Nikonov.
